Launch HN: Baselit (YC W23) – Automatically Reduce Snowflake Costs 12 by sahil_singla | 9 comments on Hacker News. Hey HN! We are Baselit ( https://baselit.ai/ ), a tool that automatically optimizes Snowflake costs. Here’s a demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls6VRzBQ-pQ . Snowflake is one of the most widely used data warehouses today. It abstracts out the underlying compute infrastructure into “warehouses” for the user - compute units with t-shirt sizes (X-Small, Small, Medium etc.). In general, if you want to lower your data processing costs, the only thing you can do is to just process less data (i.e. query optimization). But Snowflake’s warehouse abstraction allows an extra dimension along which you can optimize - by minimizing the compute you need to process that same data (i.e. warehouse optimization). Baselit automates Snowflake warehouse optimization for you. While we were working on another idea last year (AI for SQL generation), users frequently shared with us how

New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: I'm 16 and building an AI based startup called Factful with friends

Show HN: I'm 16 and building an AI based startup called Factful with friends 45 by helloduck1234 | 30 comments on Hacker News. Hey HN! My name is Andrew, and I'm thrilled to share with you a project I've been working on called Factful. I'm a high school student with a passion for tackling misinformation online. Inspired by the need for more reliable content verification tools, I decided to create Factful. It's an AI-powered web app designed to revolutionize how individuals and organizations verify content. Unlike traditional grammar checkers, Factful provides a comprehensive analysis that goes beyond just grammar. It evaluates context, factuality, coherence, and more to ensure the accuracy and credibility of content. I believe that in today's information age, it's more crucial than ever to have tools like Factful to combat misinformation and promote content integrity. I'm excited to continue developing Factful and would love for you to check it out. Y
